Title: South West and South Wales Golf Day goes with a swing!

We had record numbers at the South West and South Wales Golf day on 7th September held at Thornbury Golf Club.

We kept our fingers crossed for good weather all week and in the end, sunhats and sun cream were the order of the day.

After a coffee and danish to set us on our way, we departed the clubhouse, armed and dangerous ready to hack around the course, or take a 2-hour lesson on the driving range and putting green.

Kate Edwards completed the par 3 nine-hole course in the least number of shots - winning a bottle of bubbly and a green pass. Congratulations also go to Chris Wright, Charles Felgate and Sarah Cleverley who won green passes.

We had 23 women taking lessons – many of whom were trying out golf for the first time. Ruth Diggle won a bottle of champagne for her excellent putting skills and Andrea Summers won one for one for her superb swing.

Well done everyone who took part and helped make this a really enjoyable day.
