Title: CPD Seminar: Environmental risks in the conveyancing process

This seminar was an excellent eye opener.

John Turner from Landmark gave an interesting and extremely informative talk not only for solicitors but for those other disciplines which attended and all went away feeling much more educated and aware. Few can rest on their laurels when involved in planning, constructing and selling developments. I'm sure a few solicitors will have gone away and mentally, if not physically, reached out for some of those files to do a cross check. John's presentation made us sit up and take notice that environmental searches are not needed in only a minority of cases, that they don't prolong the conveyancing process, they aren't expensive and not to do them could have severe consequences for the client - financially and emotionally. It won't be the last we've heard on this subject.
