Title: 'Golf for non golfers event'

This event followed on the success of two previous golf events which for most of our members and guests is the first time they have picked up a golf club!

Head Professional Scott Dixon gave a lesson with a difference, based on new less traditional teaching methods, he encouraged us to embrace his 'Intuitive golf' session.

This was more about coming to terms with how it feels to hit a golf ball and being comfortable in doing so.

Scott had us hitting golf balls with baseball bats, hockey sticks, sawn off golf clubs to name but a few implements!
We were encouraged to try and direct the ball into hoops etc with the incentive of prizes for those who succeeded, which did seem to work for a few of us.

As a golfer the most successful task was playing with your head up and eyes closed, which as every good golfer knows just doesn't feel right. However it proved that not watching the ball made it go much further! Whether or not I try this on the golf course is another matter.

All in all it was a very successful event, attended by 35 members and guests.
After an hour and a half's hard work on the driving range we retired to the hotel for a warming soup and sandwich buffet.

The evening was a big success, with everyone looking forward to the next golf event.
