Title: Velocity, Bradford - Event News

Members of the Association of Women in Property (Yorkshire and North East Branch) enjoyed an update from Bradford Centre Regeneration CEO Maud Marshall, with operatic accompaniment at a recent event held at Velocity – Bradford.

Ms Marshall illustrated some of the major schemes already taking place in Bradford city centre. Using the dramatic Masterplan conceived by Alsop’s as a backdrop, Ms Marshall was able to show the WiP members some of the exciting opportunities available as part of the city centre’s £2 Billion regeneration.

Mr Robert Hudson of Bradford Local Enterprise Government Initiative Fund (LEGI) told the members how they could access LEGI funding specifically for property new builds or refurbs aimed at creating jobs and enterprise in the Bradford region.

Asquith Properties kindly sponsored the event and MD Russell Barker, gave a brief presentation about some of the Asquith developments such as the Gatehaus, Fox Hill Meadows and Manchester Road, already taking place in Bradford.

Mr Baker congratulated Maud Marshall and Bradford Centre Regeneration for its commitment to design quality and said that Asquith was proud to be playing an important role in the revitalisation of the city centre.

The venue was Velocity – Bradford, a sate of the art managed workspace specialising in supporting high-tech, high-growth companies in the technology, digital, creative and media technologies. Amanda Lennon, Project Director of Velocity also provided some ambience to the event with an impromptu performance by Opus, a professional operatic company based in Huddersfield.

The event was particularly well attended with over 50 people eager to find out more about development, investment and consultancy opportunities in Bradford, West Yorkshire. It is hoped that there may be a further site visit at one of the new Asquith developments at a later date.
