South East Branch

I shall shortly be announcing the winner of the South East Branch Student Award who will go forward to the National “Best of Best” finals. We have a reception on 4th June for our student finalists at HBOS in the City of London, details of which are on the website. Please support this prestigious event with your presence and encourage your colleagues and contacts to attend.

Leadership

Women who wish to take their careers to the next level will need to possess leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate them with confidence. This year the South East branch will be running a number of seminars around the theme of “Leadership in the Third Millennium” which I hope you will support.

Mentoring

Our Mentoring programme is a free member benefit offered in association with the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology. The next training session will be on the afternoon of 23rd September and I encourage members who have not yet been trained to participate - and to offer themselves as mentors. Whatever the stage of your career, I can assure you that your knowledge and experience can make a real difference to another member.

Schools Road Show

Developing our theme from 2007 in association with the O2 and Fabric Nightclub, Year 11 students from Lilian Bayliss School will participate in a team building challenge working together on a construction project. We can make a real difference to these children and open up a world of property careers to them. You can help by volunteering to assist on the day and/or by offering sponsorship, contents for goody bags and more.

Events

We have a superb rolling programme of events with something for everyone, both at branch and national level, involving a combination of speakers, seminars, site visits and socials with unrivalled opportunities for networking. I look forward to meeting you all during the course of my year as Chairman and, if possible, encouraging you to be come more actively involved.
